Left 4 Dead is an award-winning, innovating co-op experience. It puts 4 survivors against horde after horde of infected(zombies) as well as mutated infected(boss zombies! yay!). The 4 players must work together and protect each other to make it through alive. Left 4 Dead features 4½ campaigns and 3 game modes: Co-op, Survival and Versus.

Co-op is the standard gamemode. The four survivors must play through the campaign and survive to get rescued. Simple.

Survival is 4 survivors against endless waves of zombies. It doesn't end well! The goal is to get the best possible time on the map. You get medals for how long you manage to survive.

Finally we have Versus – prefered gamemode of the pros. Versus is the competitive mode. 2 teams compete against each other, taking turns in playing as the special infected. It works like this: Team A is survivors and team B infected. Team B must prevent team A in completing the map. After team A finishes the map or die, team B becomes the survivors and team A the infected. You win simply by doing better than the other team. Playing versus requires even more skill and coordinated teamwork than co-op and survival.
