Insurgency is a mod for the Source engine. It puts you in the combat boots of either an American soldier or an insurgent and takes place in Iraq and Afghanistan. The gameplay is focused on realism and teamwork. As such, you have no crosshair and no health display. Your ammunition is only shown as 'Remaining mags' and only when you reload.

The gameplay is similar to that of Battlefield. You need to either capture or defend strategic locations. Capturing a strategic location will gain you a new spawnpoint further into the map. You need to use coordinated strikes and teamwork to succeed in winning a map. Flanking is strongly recommended :)

Overall the game plays very well. The game is not that original, but you'll get good firefights and realism.As a sidenote, experimenting with physics settings on this map is extremely fun :P
