Time for a big news update! First off, congratulations to Juzz and Verox, the two new coders on Eternal Silence! Happy bug hunting - we're looking forward to content coming soon :) Now for some of the big stuff: The launch of the Fox Gaming Community ([Fox]). We've registered a domain( http://fox-gaming.com/ ), which will be the home of our new site once it goes live(so far, it redirects). Coming up next is the restructuring of the forums. Once Fox goes live 100%, we'll be supporting numerous games and mods, including(but not limited to) Left 4 Dead, Jumpgate Evolutions, NeoTokyo and Insurgency as well as our no. 1 favourite: Eternal Silence! We'll be recruiting heavily(more on that) to expand our numbers. The goal is to create a large, active community with lots of players interested in team play and fun play! To make sure this community is a success, we need YOU! We need all of you to report for recruiting duty - the community will stand and fall with its activity, and for activity, we need members! More on that later. In other news, there might be a Eternal Silence tournament coming up. I've been talking to Dan about it and it seems doable. I'll keep you informed how this develops. If a tournament is established, Fox One will be entering it hell bent on destruction and reinforcing our position as the no. 1 Eternal Silence team! Also, ctf_olympus is 99,999% done! I'm still having some trouble with space teleports, but Juzz has helped me out, so I'll be sorting it out in a few days and then we can all have a huge release party! Head on over to the forums and participate in the huge developments this clan is taking! -NoX out. |

Alright, I know it's been quiet for a long while, but I think we all know why: Noone has the guts to face us in combat! However, a new clan is starting up called SMEG, and as soon as they've gotten some more members, we're gonna kill 'em! Meanwhile, we've scheduled a playtest for Juzz' Es_Navigator! It's gonna take place on the evening of the 4th of august
Timezones:
- 12:00 US - Pacific
- 13:00 US - Mountain
- 14:00 US - Central
- 15:00 US - Eastern
- 19:00 Zulu / UTC
- 20:00 Great Britain
- 21:00 Central Europe
- 22:00 Eastern Europe
The test is going to be public and it's going to be announced on the forums, so we're hoping to have a BIG playtest! We're going to play on Shirtguns 3, ip: 94.76.226.30:27015
Sign-ups are not required, but encouraged and appreciated :) You can sign up the usual place, right here: http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=94 Hope you're all having a good summer!

Alright guys, it's time for another match. This time it's the Death Korps of Krieg who's in for a good ol' bashin'!
The match is scheduled for Sunday the 7th of June, at 7 pm GMT+2.
Zengo has estimated that they'll have 7-9 guys who wants to get their asses kicked, so it looks to be a pretty big match. I don't expect we have to divide our team this time.
The match will be in 2 ES_-maps, with 1 round on each team for each map. The maps are yet not decided, so check the poll and make your vote count!
As usual, sign up right here: http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=72 and we'll see what kind of team we can muster! Also, be sure to check out the discussion of Fox Ones future. We are considering expanding Fox One into a community, encompassing more games and players than what's possible when we are limited to Eternal Silence. check out the discussion at http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=69 |

The match is over and the end score is : 4 - 0 for Fox One(that's rounds, not maps).
The match in short(skip this if you were playing ): We started out in a hectic space firefight where they almost got our corvettes first. They didn't, though, and we kick proverbial ASS in the following attack phase. The next 2 rounds were pretty much easy as pie, us gaining attack phase and win. The 4th round was troublesome on the Fox One part. There was some confusion as to who was active, who was playing, resulting in our team having 7-3 players. We got it working, though, but not until they reached attack phase. So we had to kick their asses on defense until the time was up, then everything was back into the old groove, we kicked their ass on attack and wrapped it up neatly. Thanks to everyone who joined! It was a GREAT game! They seem to be up for another one soon, so be ready for more awesome firefights! Here are the screenshots in reverse chronological order:
Bonus info: If you look real hard at the last Ice screenshot, you'll see 2 NGM guys entering shields(we were UTF ) I didn't notice them until afterwards. http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=19&mode=view http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=18&mode=view http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=17&mode=view http://foxone.m910q.net/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=16&mode=view |

yo guys! I've got a map ready for playtest, so it's time to bring out your good joystick and let the good times barrel roll! The map is CTF_Olympus, the FIRST Space only map in Eternal Silence(space only meaning that all the fighting takes place in space). The setting is a UTF city and mining facility, under siege by the NGM fleet.
Anyways, the deal is this: We're gonna be hosting a testing session on sunday the 24th around 9pm(GMT+2) in which all Fox Ones as well as selected people from the ES forums will be invited to playtest the map. This is an advanced map, so hopefully it'll be a real piloting challenge(it seems to have been for Shunted :P).
I'll throw in a link to the map and it'll be on the SG 4: Testing server and in my dropbox(remember to COPY, not CLIP).
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/915999/ctf_olympus.bsp
Known issues: - The UTF hangar is (still) unaligned - Some of the surface lights are "lazily placed". - The hangar areas are ugly and I will redo them if the map plays well.
Things to keep an eye out for: - Bob and Janet(waving NPCs) - The tank!!!!! Anyways, who's in? |
